United Airlines and Delta Air Lines have announced the resumption of flights to Israel, with United set to operate daily services from Newark to Tel Aviv starting June 5. Delta is also reinstating its direct route from New York’s JFK Airport to Tel Aviv. This marks a cautious return of international carriers to Israel’s airspace, which had been largely suspended due to security concerns following a Houthi missile strike near Ben Gurion Airport in May 2025.
In contrast, several major airlines, including Lufthansa, Air France, British Airways, and easyJet, have yet to resume operations to Israel, citing ongoing safety concerns. Ryanair has also canceled flights to Israel until at least early August, attributing the decision to factors “beyond its control.”
The Civil Aviation Authority of Israel continues to monitor the situation closely, coordinating with international aviation bodies to ensure the safety of air travel to and from the country.

KTA’s Professional Recommendation:
Given the current volatility in international air travel to Israel, it is imperative for travelers to verify flight statuses directly with airlines before proceeding to the airport. Continued vigilance and proactive communication with carriers are essential to mitigate potential disruptions.
