According to media reports, Israeli airlines will resume limited outbound international flights starting Monday. Each flight will be capped at 50 passengers as part of an emergency transportation framework authorized in light of the ongoing security situation. These measures aim to provide a controlled exit option for foreign nationals, residents, and Israeli citizens with urgent travel needs.
This development has significant implications for foreign employees, visa holders, and individuals navigating immigration processes. Restricted passenger numbers may create logistical challenges, particularly for foreign workers on temporary permits or B-1 work visas who wants to depart from Israel. It is expected that access to these limited seats will be prioritized, to cases as Humanitarian cases, tourists already in country, diplomats, Israeli sports and youth delegations etc.
As of today (June 23), the Israeli government is working on a revised framework for Israeli citizens to travel abroad as well. The new plan is expected to allow all citizens to depart the country without the need to submit a request to the Exceptions Committee. The guiding principle behind this updated framework is to eliminate any discrimination between tourists and diplomats and Israeli nationals who wish to board outbound flights or ships.
Foreign Nationals Evacuation Plans
The Israel Airports Authority has announced that 24 outbound flights per day will begin operating today (June 23) , following a shutdown of departures from Israeli airspace since the onset of the conflict with Iran. Over the past week, a comparable number of incoming flights has been used to repatriate Israelis who were stranded overseas.
The Tourism Ministry reported that, as of Thursday June 19, approximately 22,000 foreign nationals had requested assistance in departing Israel. Foreign nationals who prefer not to wait for scheduled flights have the option to exit the country via land crossings into neighboring Jordan or Egypt.
KTA Recomodations
KTA recommends that those who need to travel out of Israel contact airlines as soon as possible to secure a place on these limited-capacity flights. Given the uncertainty and high demand, early action is essential.
