Indian nationals seeking employment in Israel can obtain a work visa either as an “expert” or for roles in other industries, such as manufacturing. The primary requirement for an expert visa is a gross monthly salary that is at least double the average wage in Israel. As of today, this amounts to approximately $6,400 USD. Additional conditions include proof of higher education, relevant experience, and specialized expertise.

Indian experts in Israel come from diverse industries, including IT, pharmaceuticals, management, diamonds, communications, software, FinTech, and more.

The employer initiates the work permit application by submitting the required documentation to the Israeli Population and Immigration Authority. Once approved, the employee must undergo an individual consular process, typically in Delhi or Mumbai, to obtain a work visa. This process is facilitated through the Visa Application Centre (VAC), which simplifies and expedites the consular procedures.

The applicant submits their documentation to the VAC, which, at its discretion, processes the visa application with the consulate. The consulate may issue the visa, deny the application, or invite the applicant for an interview to gather additional information. Upon approval, a work visa is issued and stamped into the employee’s passport, generally valid for 30 days. The employee must enter Israel within this period.

Upon arrival in Israel, the employee is granted a work visa for the duration of their employment. However, if the employee does not enter Israel within 30 days of the visa’s issuance, they must restart the consular process.

While the process can be complex, it is transparent, fair, and achievable—especially with professional guidance. Kan-Tor & Acco Law Firm has a specialized team dedicated to securing expert visas for Indian professionals.
