Great news for Israeli airlines and travelers!
Oman has granted approval for Israeli carriers to use its airspace, according to a recent announcement by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This approval follows a prolonged effort by the authorities in Israel and Oman to make it happen. With similar approval already obtained from Saudi Arabia, a new air corridor has now been opened, making travel times significantly shorter for flights from Ben Gurion airport to certain destinations in the east.
Flights from Israel to India, for example, can now be shortened by an estimated two hours. This development as a historic and significant decision for the Israeli economy and travelers. Israel extended special thanks to the Sultan of Oman and friends in the US who supported Israel throughout the process. This new air corridor will undoubtedly facilitate easier and faster travel for Israeli airlines and passengers, and potentially boost tourism and business relations between Israel and countries in the east.
