Due to a labor dispute between the Population and Immigration Authority employees and it’s Management, the employees have served an official pre-strike announcement to the Government Empoyees ‘s labor ombudsman.

According to the official announcement, the 2,200 employees intend to start a strike by February 2, 2021, as not real negotiation was made with them in relation to the implementation of the new “Eitan” software, and the likely effect on the labor conditions resulting from the implementation.

In the meantime, the Population and Immigration Authority does not accept new applications for work visas due to the ongoing lockdown in Israel, expected to remain in force until at least January 31, 2021.
