Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, more than 15,000 asylum seekers from Ukraine have entered Israel, joining thousands who were already in the country when the invasion took place.

The Israeli Interior Ministry announced this week that it will automatically extend the tourist visas of Ukrainian citizens currently in Israel through June 30 and allow them to work.

The decision does not apply to Ukrainian nationals who arrived in Israel before the Russian invasion.
