Channel 12 News reported on Wednesday evening that health officials are also considering adding the US, Portugal, Turkey, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Morocco, and Canada to the list of red countries in the coming days.
The report said Prime Minister Naftali Bennett wants to take an aggressive approach to the no-fly list:
“Ministers that vote against the steps will be responsible for the outbreak. I expect all the ministers to understand the seriousness of the situation and not give in to pressure from the public or lobbyists”
Decisions are expected to be taken tomorrow, December 19, 2021, at Government Cabinet Decision. However, Bennett is expected to face opposition from some of his ministers to such a drastic move.
