Options Under The Law of Return

 

Under Israeli Entry Laws, regulations and code of practice, the following are the options for Jewish people to legally work in Israel

  •  Become an Israeli national through Aliyah, The assignee do have Kupat Holim (medical insurance), and can work with no restriction.
  •  Become Permanent Resident through Aliyah, The assignee do have Kupat Holim, and can work with no restriction.  
  •  Bodek Alia A-1 residency. This is a temporary residency given to Jewish people, that allows them up to 5 years of residency before making a decision to make  an Aliyah. The assignee do have Kupat Holim, and can work with no restriction. Aliyah Rights normally starts to be counted from the first day of this visa.
  •  Apply for B-1 expert as foreign national (have some personal salary tax benefits – but 3,200 USD government fee per year). With such visa he can work for  sponsoring company only. The company is obliged for prevailing wage of at least double the average salary, housing, medical insurance, contract of  employment etc.
  •  Apply for B-1 Jewish (No tax benefits and up to 100 USD government fee only). Company is obliged for medical insurance, contract of employment.
